Schools

The Juneau schools serve 5,700 students in Alaska's Capital City. There are six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school in Juneau. We also have a Charter School for grades K-5, a Montessori Program, and an Alternative High School. There are over 600 certified and support staff working as a team to support our students in the obtainment of nine educational goals. This district has been committed to increasing student achievement by adopting clear content standards in academic areas and "expecting the best" from all of our students. Four strategies for school improvement have been established to support the district's mission
